Distortion

Things held sacred,
Sold to the highest bidder.

Time-
Auctioned for public praise
Space-
Weaponized for cunning control
Words-
Wielded for terrible power.

Here lies the burnt ash,
Of a diminished fire.

Upon leaving
Distortion's
Most absent liar.

Sun Kissed

I lay upon a bright green terry cloth mat that covers wooden planks painted the color of brick.

The rays of the sun cling like a blanket upon my skin. My breath catches from the warmth of its heat.

A straw hat covers my face,, and through tiny holes, the slight opening of my eyelids fixate upon dancing prisms of a multicolored display of a light show.
