5/11
In a seated or standing meditation posture-
Inhale: Let praises to God,
Exhale: Be in my throat.
1 Sing a new song to the Lord.
Psalm 149: 1-9
Sing his praise in the assembly of godly people.
2 Let Israel find joy in their creator.
Let the people of Zion rejoice over their king.
3 Let them praise his name with dancing.
Let them make music to him with tambourines and lyres,
4 because the Lord takes pleasure in his people.
He crowns those who are oppressed with victory.
5 Let godly people triumph in glory.
Let them sing for joy on their beds.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their throats
and two-edged swords in their hands
7 to take vengeance on the nations,
to punish the people of the world,
8 to put their kings in chains
and their leaders in iron shackles,
9 to carry out the judgment that is written against them.
This is an honor that belongs to all his godly ones.

The Promised Rest
4Β Therefore, since the promise to enter his rest remains, let us beware[a]Β that none of you be found to have fallen short.[b]Β 2Β For we also have received the good news just as they did. But the message they heard did not benefit them, since they were not united with those who heard it in faith.[c]Β 3Β For we who have believed enter the rest, in keeping with what[d]Β he has said,
So I swore in my anger,
βThey will not enter my rest,β[e]even though his works have been finished since the foundation of the world. 4 For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in this way: And on the seventh day God rested from all his works.[f] 5 Again, in that passage he says, They will never enter my rest.[g] 6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news did not enter because of disobedience, 7 he again specifies a certain dayβtoday. He specified this speaking through David after such a long time:
Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.[h]8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. 9 Therefore, a Sabbath rest remains for Godβs people. 10 For the person who has entered his rest has rested from his own works, just as God did from his. 11 Let us, then, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall into the same pattern of disobedience.
12 For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 No creature is hidden from him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give an account.
Our Great High Priest
14Β Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavensβJesus the Son of Godβlet us hold fast to our confession.Β 15Β For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way as we are,Β yet without sin.Β 16Β Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.

Inheriting the Promise (Hebrews 6:13-20)
13Β For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater to swear by, he swore by himself:Β 14Β I will indeed bless you, and I will greatly multiply you.[d]Β 15Β And so, after waiting patiently, Abraham obtained the promise.Β 16Β For people swear by something greater than themselves, and for them a confirming oath ends every dispute.Β 17Β Because God wanted to show his unchangeable purpose even more clearly to the heirs of the promise, he guaranteed it with an oath,Β 18Β so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to seize the hope set before us.Β 19Β We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.Β 20Β Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner,Β because he has become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
