The Salish Sea

Rocky shore,
Below my feet,
You slowly drift from me.

I threw you in the salty brine,
In hopes that I would see--
The sun reflect your prismed patterns,

I thought--you were made for me.

I looked for miles,
In desperate panic,
For miles and miles I looked.

A streak of copper,
I took another,
And placed it in my hand.

Into my pocket,
My cherished locket,
I'll keep it safe, I swear.

A trinket,
A token,
Oh heart-
Not broken.

But a little belongs to the sea.

Unconditional Love

Through
Sickness,
Strife,
and Sorrow-
Work,
Grief,
and Loss-
The gruesome tribulations,
He meets us at the Cross.

Through
Wisdom,
Worship,
and Offering-
Obedience,
Belief,
and Rest-
He instills our Salvation,
YHWH sacrificed His Best.

    Great Expanse

I wrote a song for you.

    A prophet's word,
    You sent.
    Turning all things-
    Upside, down.
    Downside, up.
    Inside, out.
    Outside,within.

    Words claiming my love,
    Wiped away in error.
How easily I lose my words.

Three hundred and sixty degrees, A perfect circle can be none other.
    Meek attempts I envision,
    The depths of Your Love.

    Yet what of Your boundaries?
    None can there be.

    Breaker of chains,
    When I think I understand,
    Love is all You give.

    Silence. Quiet. Reflection.

    Sight, hearing,and knowing--
Only in Faithfulness do they come.

    Faithfulness,
    Your Word, eternal.

    Expansion, Expansion!
    Come near, my great Expanse!

    Expansion, Expansion!
    Of praise, fill my song!
    Grant lyrics worthy to speak--

    Your Great Expanse!

    2/14

    Candy heart,
    Smile so sweet.
    Never meant,
    For me to keep.

    Candy heart,
    Mostly sour.
    Ancient curse,
    Brought by the hour.

    Candy heart,
    Feigns to break.
    Wounded pride,
    Twisted fate.

    Candy heart,
    Oh so narrow.
    Misaimed point,
    Of Cupid’s arrow.
